I purchased it today ($39); apparently it only comes with 2 planes, you have to buy the rest separately, at about $7 each from what I saw. Not sure what the two planes are, but "extras" include planes like the SPAD 13 and Fokker D7, among others.

Would like to talk to anybody who is going to try this sim. S!

Hi, I know this is ever so slightly delayed, but I participated in beta and I can honestly say that ROF is by leaps and bounds the most aesthetically pleasing experience I have ever had on the computer.

The FM in beta was as I would imagine the planes would fly, and use an actual physics engine rather than a table based system for determining flight characteristics.

The computer requirements arent as bad as folks like to make them out to be. I run a Q9550 at 2.93 on an nForce 750i SLI with a pair of 9800GTs 512 each, and I was playing on full graphics with no drag or lag whatsoever. But my old RB machine, which I tried out for shits and giggles, ran it ok on medium (Q6600 @2.4 on a 680i with a single 8800gt 512) and it was still a decade ahead of the competition in terms of visuals. On the other hand, my "clunker" RB machine was the uppermost limit of what RB will actually function on and give the best performance, and I keep my stuff up to date minus ~a year for state-of-the-art to drive down prices. So for me to say the requirements arent so bad is a smidgen skewed.

After that its pretty much downhill. From what I can tell, the game is infested with tryhards who demand you spend all the money to make your computer game as realistic as possible. Still no "open" servers, but co-ops would be a pretty neat change of pace until you're sick of it.

Im waiting patiently for enough new planes and user content to be released that the prices for old DLC starts to diminish from lack of sales.

Like Neo I participated in the Beta, and went on to buy the game. Neo summed it up for the most part. As far as flying the other aircraft, once they are available you can buy them in sets. No prices have been lists.
